The National Art School (NAS) is Australia’s most prestigious and oldest visual arts institute in Australia. NAS offers specialised study in studio arts practice across a broad range of disciplines, taught by distinguished practising artists and art historians who bring a rich diversity of talent, skills, experience and knowledge. NAS has a range of course options from short-courses at all levels to a comprehensive range of fully accredited degree courses all of which embody the School’s educational philosophy of studio passed learning under the supervision of practicing artists.
NAS is the tertiary arts partner of the Cabramatta, Fairvale and Merrylands High Schools Fresh AIR program, which was launched at the National Art School on Friday 14th February 2014 with artist led lectures and workshops. This day allowed the three schools to come together, for staff and students to meet each other, meet and work with the artists and experience the surroundings of the National Art School. The 2014 Fresh AIR program concluded with a two day artist led non-residential camp hosted at the National Art School.
